The rich history of Bollywood movies starts from the era when ‘Mother India’ was nominated for the Oscars. The masterpiece, though failed to bring Oscars to India, but opened the gates for film makers to continue the good work. During this whole period, Indian audience was treated to some of the most exceptional works ever done in the global cinema. Comedy movies like ‘Padosan’, ‘Golmaal’, ‘Chupke Chupke’ and many more are still rated as one of the finest work done till date in the Indian film industry. While when it comes to the horror movies, who can forgot the likes of ‘Mahal’ and ‘Woh Kaun thi’, which introduced horror in their most elementary form to the Indian audience. Today both of these genres have undergone a radical change, much due to the change of preferences of audience. The pace of this changes too has exerted tremendous pressure on the film makers, who have done the precisely the same thing that they were asked to i.e., to come up with new, new and out of the world ideas. This is the prime reason why in last few years, people have seen some of the most fantastic works in the cinema domain. With more and more young blood coming into the industry, there has been a prominent increase in the appetite for larger than life script ideas and in the process even explore unconventional side of the society in the form of portrayal of prohibited relationships such as lesbian and homosexuality or even address the issue of bisexuality through the same mode. There are a lots of movies in the market but Comedy movies have their own importance. People always like comedy movies because after seeing these movies you feel freshness in your mind. Moreover, film makers are not even shying away from the idea from hiring the best technologies and workforce, so that they could match up to the standard of the international movies. ‘Kambakht Ishq’ can be seen as one example in this direction. Director ‘Sajid Nadiadwala’ reportedly has roped in the likes of Sylvestor Stallone, Pin-up beauty Carmen Electra, Brandon Routh, former Bond babe Denise Richards and has hired the best stunt coordinator in Spiro Razatos for his dream project. Perhaps even before you watch Whiteout online, you could watch the 1982 cult classic, John Carpenter’s The Thing, which developed a very loyal following despite tanking at the box office.  However, it made no money in the box office, as E.T. The Extraterrestrial opened that same weekend. Anyway, both movies feature mysterious goings on at Antarctic research facilities, but Whiteout is a straight-ahead crime thriller while The Thing was a horror barf-bag movie.  It was made clear on various occasions, by the director of Whiteout, Dominic Sena, that it is in no way like The Thing.

Let’s talk more about the film. If you watch Whiteout online and have a decent sized monitor, you should enjoy it just fine.  Whiteout is actually based on a Greg Rucka’s graphic novel of the same name rather than John Carpenter’s The Thing, the graphic novel being illustrated by Steve Lieber.  The film adaptation seems to be receiving similar praise from the book’s core fanbase, as they love the movie. The black and white visuals of the graphic novel fit the Antarctic atmosphere well. There is a sequel to the graphic novel available now called Whiteout: Melt. Possibly because the author has hopes that it too will be made into a movie, Whiteout: Melt reads like a storyboard more than a graphic novel, according to most reviews. Whiteout: Melt has a storyline that contains political intrigue, nuclear weapon theft, and more thrills. So the possibility exists that you’ll be able to watch Whiteout online (in the form of sequels) later on.

The movie was filmed in northern Manitoba, and then shifted to a soundstage in Montreal.  Not only where the weather conditions in Manitoba quite extreme, special effects where employed to make them appear even more so. The entire production crew of the movie, even the actors, went through classes and training in order to survive in the harsh cold, and warned to stay away from things that could kill them, even otherwise harmless practices. Was it worth it all in the end? We’ll see. Early reviews have been tepid, but sometimes box office numbers totally defy the reviews.  Watch Whiteout online on September 9.

Out of those two, Sara Paxton… I think Nikki Reed is fine, though. She does a good job of putting on the bitter face, and she’s beautiful.

Who you have to worry about replacing is Kristen Stewart. She’s just awful for Bella.
